Well I just had to post this -
After watching CSI:NY episode Manhattanhenge I really wanna see this phenomenon (if that's what you can call it). It looks so pretty.

So as you are probably aware (if you read this damn thing anyway) I moved into my student accommodation about 10 weeks ago. It was perfectly fine at first. I had housemates I really liked and got on with, the guys in the apartment below are really cool, my course is going great (apart from the math that is) and then it all seemed to go so very wrong.

First, my housemates don't clean up. I'm sick of the mess in the kitchen when I wanna cook or eat, and the cleaner isn't too pleased either because she can't clean what she needs to. We now seem to get a letter every other week from the dorm manager about the cleaning.

Second, when certain guys from the apartment below come up to see us there seems to be secrets passed around, secrets I'm not included in. This makes it really uncomfortable to socialise within the apartment because I just sit there while they all talk between themselves. I'm not the only one that has noticed. Another guy from the apartment below gets really pissed off with it but he can always go back down to his own apartment whereas I'm stuck here in the middle but not included.

That's about it for the bad stuff. On the plus there is a guy from one of the other apartments who is a really cool guy. The guys on my course are really cool too. We had an Events Society night out last week and that was fun. I was only gonna go out for a couple of drinks but I ended up staying out until about 3:30 AM. Yeah, yeah I know.

So it's not long now until the holiday that everyone's talking about - Christmas. It's almost here and it's getting closer than ever as more and more people see the CocaCola commercial with the lorries. I can't wait until I go home for the holidays. I'll be home for five weeks. THe downside to that being that I won't want to come back to uni. It'll be hard but oh well, life goes on.

 So I moved in about three weeks ago and although there was an internet connection in my room I had no way to access it. I had to wait until I got my student loan through and then I had to wait until my nice shiny MacBook Pro arrived. 
I was using my flatmates laptops to constantly check my mail and track the shipment. When it finally arrived I smacked my knee on the door trying to get out!

So my course has officially started and for the most part - it's boring!
There are so many modules to do with math and sometimes I just wish the lecturers would hurry and get to the point. I wasn't really bothered that there was math as part of the course but when the lecturer goes back to GCSE math it starts to get a little boring. On the plus side though I can make coaxial (TV aerial) cables now. If I'd known that when I first moved in I wouldn't have bought one.

My flatmates are awesome. I couldn't have asked for better unless I'd been living in flat full of guys!

It seems that that may become for the foreseeable future.
Tomorrow (well actually today) I'm moving to Derby to start my university degree. I've got most of my things packed with everybody telling me I've got way too much. I don't think I have nearly enough. Equipment wise anyway.
The unfortunate thing is I don't have a laptop yet. I'm hoping to buy a MacBook Pro but I don't know how long it will be before I can afford one. This means I don't have access to the internet unless someone I'm living with doesn't mind letting me use theirs for an hour or two.

So this could be goodbye for a long time (let's hope not) but I will be back.

Well to start I must say sorry for not posting in the last NINE weeks! First off I had to fight my sister for use of the PC and the three weeks ago it went in for repair. I was able to check my emails and such on my cell phone however I was limited to what I could do and the time that I had. Now all I have to do is load everything back onto the PC now I have it back =[.

So what's changed since last time?
Well I got accepted at Derby, I have my address, I have a friend that's going, I have another friend that will be there and I have my student loan sorted.

Now all I need is a job while I'm there!

Anyway that's it for now as I'm going to watch Life!

I got my final grades today for my National Diploma in Music Technology and I got Distinction, Merit, Merit. That's equivalent to 280 UCAS points meaning I have more than the condition on my offer Derby. Looks like I'm moving to Derby! Woop woop!

I was at college today and it started as a pretty normal day. in other words it was pretty boring, just finishing up the last of any assignments. Nothing special there then!

Last session of the day and it was the same as all the sessions - get on with your work. Until that is I (well a few others too) was approached to do some recording for a company call WriteBuzz. Check them out here - www.writebuzz.com
They want a couple of people from my course to record some of the theater students reading stories, poem, scripts, etc. We would then be producing what we've recorded and everything will be released on iTunes!


Quite excited about that. My work will be available around the world for people to download. Wow.

Well, I don't know how many people actually stop by here but I kinda thought what the hell anyways.
I've decided that I'll post a showcase of the work that I do as a Live Event Technician.
Most of the pics are of BA (Hons)Creative Music Technology 1st Year Performance. I was Lighting Designer and Operator. The other pics are from a local theater I worked at for a while where I was both Designer and Operator for a number of different performances.

So I've noticed that there seems to be a few birthdays today. I know that there will be millions of birthdays today as with every other day but I mean of people I know.

It's also the one year anniversary of one of my best friends death. Just so you know I'm not being morbid. I'm celebrating his life and just posting to say what an amazing friend he really was.

He used to go mountain biking on downhill trails every weekend and then every Monday at college we would hear about how he'd fallen off his bike on one the jumps and shouted "Ow my botty," just as a big burly guy comes flying past.
We all had some really really great times together and Rob if by divine intervention you're reading this - we all miss ya!

So if you've read any of my posts you will have probably read the one about the friend that was always letting me down. He let me down big style, messing with my chances of going to university by claiming he had to work so I got rid of him. I don't ever want to know him after that stunt.

On a brighter note, I visited the University of Derby today and was absolutely amazed at the course I've applied for. I spoke to some of the current students and was genuinely impressed with what they had to say. It must have been good because it takes a lot to impress me. The accommodation in the student dorms was quite nice too. I think that is the way to go now. No more indecision I think I'm going to accept that offer!

 So on Saturday I went to a party and missed CSI:NY. No biggie I got to watch it on Sunday. Aww poor Adam nearly lost his job :(, Danny without his glasses - What's going on?!?!?!?!?!?!? even though he is still hot!
After satisfying my NY fix I switched channels and watched Supernatural. Is it just me or is Jensen in b&w hotter?

I've just finished reading Eminem - The Way I Am and I think it's really good what he's doing to make sure that his daughters don't have the life that he had.  My mom always says that all he needs is a proper mother - so Em if ya reading this (yeah right) mom says she'll look after ya!

 How cool is all this snow? I know it's a bit crappy that everything has to come to a stop but on the plus side everything looks really beautiful.

So because of all this snow college has gone all American and closed for a few days until it clears. That's not a bad thing, I can get on with my work at home in my own time. And, hey there's nothing wrong with being American. I lived there for a while and I sorta class my self as having dual nationality. 

So I get a snow day and unfortunately there was no Danny Messer/Carmine Giovinazzo there to tell me to enjoy it :(.

So I've filled in my UCAS application for the university courses I want to go on and I've sent it off. 
When I first decided I wanted to do a degree I decided to stick with what I'm doing now (Music Technology) and carry on for the degree. I was then told about a degree in Live Performance Technology and that then took over me. I want that one!

After finding out that the degree course may not be running I was told about Sound, Light and Live Event Technology. I've changed my mind. I want that one!

So my first choice is Sound, Light and Live Event Technology, my fall-back option is Creative Music Technology.

ARGH!!!!!!!
I've been told that providing there is enough interest (at least 13 people) Live Performance Technology will be running.

What do I do? Do I move away to Derby or do I stay where I am?????????

Decisions Decisions

OK so here's the deal.
I have a friend that I've known for a while, every so often he let's me down big style. We usually have an argument but then it goes back to being how it should. The whole things then starts again.

It was going fine until about Christmas time. He was supposed to come to mine on the night of Christmas Day and have a drink with me, then stop at mine. He apparently fell asleep came round to mine for all of one hour before fucking off home. He did instead come round Boxing Day and brought some movies to watch. Whilst watching the movies he fell asleep while I got drunk in the chair next to him (I wasn't waiting for him to wake up cos I didn't know when that would be).

New Years Eve - we were supposed to be going to a party together but he "had" to go into work (everyone else at work was under the impression he didn't need to be there). 

January 2nd - my 21st. He was supposed to spend the night at mine and have lots of drinks with me but he went to work (after saying that he had the day off I found out that he didn't, the worst thing I didn't find out from him). I spent the night on my own. It was just like another day, not at all like my 21st. 

Has he made up for ruining my birthday? No, he's just continued to ruin nights for me. Tonight is not different.

I was considering living at home when I go to Uni and commuting there every day because I didn't want to leave him behind. Now I'm considering living there because at the moment he doesn't seem at all worth it.

He's got days booked off work to go to York to see another friend but he won't book days off to celebrate my birthday with me.

 Well this is my first LiveJournal entry. Woo! 
I hate being a newbie but I guess everyone has to be one at some point in time. If any of you out there want to become friends feel free to add me. I shall warn you that I can be a bit crazy mad at times.
